We built AIBuilt to need as little of your data as possible. Here is exactly what we keep and why.
You can browse, vote and save on AIBuilt without an account — that stays anonymous (see below). Two things are optional and use your email: a passwordless account (to sync your saved apps across devices) and our weekly newsletter. We only ever store an email when you choose one of those, and we never sell data.
Voting and saving use a single randomly generated identifier stored in an httpOnly cookie ("aibuilt_vid") in your browser. It contains no personal information and is used only to remember your votes/saves and to rate-limit abuse. Clearing your cookies resets it.
Accounts are passwordless. If you log in, we store your email address as your identity and email you a one-time login link; a session cookie ("aibuilt_session") then keeps you signed in for 30 days. We use the email only to sign you in and, if needed, to reach you about your account — not for marketing unless you also opt into the newsletter.
Logging in merges the votes/saves from your current browser into your account so they sync across your devices. Ask us to delete your account (privacy@aibuilt.com) and we remove your user record and sessions. Legal basis: performing the login you requested.
The weekly digest is strictly opt-in: we only add your email if you tick the box at login or subscribe from the site footer — never automatically, and never with a pre-ticked box. We store just your email address and send the digest through Resend, our email provider.
Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can withdraw your consent at any time (it's as easy as giving it); unsubscribing deletes your address from the list. Legal basis: your consent.
When you submit a build we store the URL and the launch-card details you provide. Approved submissions are public by design — the launch card, screenshots and generated trailer are visible to everyone.
If you provide demo credentials for the trailer pipeline, they are stored only so the automated browser can capture your demo flow, are never shown publicly, and you can request their deletion at any time.
Trailers and thumbnails are screenshots of your submitted URL, captured by our pipeline with your permission (submitting is the permission). They are stored on our servers and served publicly as part of the launch card. Ask us to remove a launch and its assets go with it.
We use privacy-first product analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — no ad trackers, and we never sell data. Email is handled by Resend (login links and the newsletter) and the database/storage by Supabase; both process data only to run the service.
Privacy, data-access or data-deletion requests: privacy@aibuilt.com. To report or take down a launch: report@aibuilt.com. Anything else: hello@aibuilt.com.
